My weekend

My Thanksgiving weekend really ended up being very different. First, my mother-in-law cooked the entire day before. She prepared lots of food and desserts. Then on Thanksgiving, we took all of this food to my husbands uncle's house. Now, most of the family was there, but there were some that did not show up. The family that did participate, ate the food and quickly headed home afterwards. We cleaned up the left overs because everyone knows that you will be eating Thanksgiving for several days afterwards. We, meaning, my mother-in-law, my husband, his uncle, cousins and myself, decided.... next year we will do steaks on the grill and watch the football game. Thanksgiving over the years has just been about the food instead of the family getting together. I know what the text books teach about Thanksgiving. I know the pilgrams, indians, and turkey are involved. I also know that for many years that followed it was about the family. Well, sometimes I think that we forget the meaning of the word Thanks. It should mean that families get together to share happy moments, memories, and to share stories to the little ones or just be together. Well, enough said about that. The rest of my weekend consisted of being able to talk with some friends in England and realizing how interesting they can be, my husbands truck breaking down, some of my family causing injury to themselves in fun(play wrestling and forgetting that an area table was in the way), my son cutting his own hair(now he's only 4yrs) only to look like his head was placed in a blender, and the last of it all.... realizing that this will be one Thanksgiving I will not forget any time soon. I can see that this will be a story to tell next year while grilling the steaks.

Sounds like you had a really great weekend.

I wish that I had been a fly on the wall to see all the goings on.

Hope the truck got fixed.

And your son cutting his hair, now find me a child who has not embarrassed his or her mum by cutting chunks off his or her hair, and I'll catch you a rainbow!

I think it is so cute to see clumps missing - and you must take a photo - so that you can show him when his child does it too!
